The period 2005–2006 has been a year of transformation leading to major reforms in recruitment/assessment procedures and guidelines. Some of the major initiatives undertaken and achievements made are briefly described.

Introduction of revised scorecard

The existing scorecard system was modified to bring greater objectivity and transparency in the selection process. The weightage given to past performance varies from 60% the level of Senior Scientist to only 40% at the level of Director/Deputy Director-General, with remaining marks being allocated to personal interview. Further, weightage given to academic record or publication etc. is kept higher for scientific positions, whereas institution – building activities are given higher weightage for research management positions. The revised scorecard system has been put to test in more than 200 senior positions since April 2005.

Revision of guidelines for career advancement (from senior scientist to principal scientist)

A thorough revision of the exiting guidelines for assessment has been undertaken to remove the certain ambiguities in the assessment process and emphasis on different performance parameters has been made more rational.

1. Intake and No. of courses:- Diploma level technical institutions may be started

with 5 courses with an intake of 300. The class size should be 60 in each discipline.

Intake could be increased subject to providing additional infrastructure, faculty and

other facilities as per the AICTE norms and accreditation of programmes.

2. In order to put the available resources to optimum use, diploma level institutions

may start courses in relevant clusters/groups such as:

Admission For Post Graduate MD (Siddha) Degree Course for 2010-11

A pass in the examination considered equivalent to the afore- mentioned Siddha Degrees by The Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R Medical University, Chennai and the Central Council of Indian Medicine, New Delhi, with successful completion of Compulsory Rotatory Resident Internship (C.R.R.I) in the Hospital of Indian Systems of Medicine recognized by the Central Council of Indian Medicine, New Delhi.

The candidates should have registered their names in either any State Council of Indian Medicine or Central Council of Indian Medicine.  

Note 1: Candidates who had discontinued M.D (Siddha) course on any ground can apply for admission if their discontinuance has not resulted in a seat being wasted. On the other hand, if their discontinuance had resulted in a seat being wasted, they can apply only after two years from the date of discontinuance.

The Tamil Nadu Dr.Ambedkar Law University aims towards advancement of legal education and promotion of knowledge of law in general. The University will strive to improve the communal harmony and achieve the goal of egalitarian society through legal literacy programmes.

The Law University will strive to promote the skills of advocacy among the law students and research scholars so as to serve the society with a sense of responsibility while providing legal services, making legislation and suggesting law reforms.

 Established in 1973, Kumaun University boasts two expansive campuses with a further 27 affiliated colleges spread across the Kumaun region. The total area covered by the university thus far is an impressive 150 acres.
